Lochy's Lucky Escape
A Water Safety Story

More than 400 people drown a year in the UK while swimming and playing in rivers, lochs and the sea, some of these deaths could easily be prevented with more education and safety measures.

Having been a swim teacher, coach and open water swimmer for more than five years, water safety is a subject I feel very passionately about.

The Project

The aim of this project is to create a Illustrated Children's book with the intention to become a series and have links to an educational website/app, creating a body of water safety materials that are easily accessible and teach people from a very early age.

For this project I focused on writing, illustrating and producing a high quality 32 page, printed picture book containing 500-800 words, made for a target audience of 3-7 year olds.

Development

The development portion of the project involved a significant portion of iterations, concepting and designing.
